Cleaver Fever
by Jamplo
Cleaver Fever is a one tap slicing game you play in the browser. Every tap sends the cleaver on the same flipping hop, so the skill is when you tap rather than how hard: slice the fruit, burgers and cake laid along the arc for cash, come down tip first to stick the landing, and stay off the magenta spikes, because a spike or a gap ends the run on the spot. Every ordinary level finishes on a gauntlet of multiplier pads from x2 to x50, where the richest pad is the narrowest one, and every fourth level is a bonus round with no gauntlet and nothing to die on. Levels are generated fresh each time and always beatable, the cleaver you start with has eight more behind it that unlock with banked cash, and your bank and level are saved on your device.
Controls
- Phone or tablet
- Tap anywhere on the game. One finger is the whole game. Tap again in midair to launch a fresh hop before you land.
- Desktop
- Click the game, or press Space. Every tap is the same hop, so timing is the only input that matters.
Tips for Cleaver Fever
- Food is laid along the hop arc, so a launch from the right spot slices a whole row in one sweep.
- Coming down flat is a clatter, not a death: the blade lies with its tip pointing forward and the next tap sets it off again. Tapping again in the air resets the flip, which is how you aim a landing.
- The x50 pad is a sixth the width of the x2, and sailing past the whole strip only pays x1. Take the pad you can actually hit.
FAQ
Is Cleaver Fever free to play?
Yes. It runs in your browser on phones, tablets and desktops, with nothing to install and no account to create. There is nothing to buy either. The cleavers in the shop are paid for with cash you cut in the game.
How do the multiplier pads work?
Every ordinary level ends on a strip of pads laid end to end: x2, x3, x5, x10, x25, x50. They get narrower as they get richer. The cash you cut on the way there is multiplied by whichever pad you land on. Sail past the whole strip and you still bank at x1. From level 9 a ÷2 pad is dealt in between x10 and x25, so reaching for the far end becomes a gamble rather than a bonus.
Do the other cleavers change how the game plays?
No. All nine are cosmetic, with the same reach, edge and hop. The shop panel says so on the page where you spend the money. One of the nine is in your hand from the first run; the other eight are bought with banked cash, from 12,000 for the cheapest to 600,000 for the last.
What happens when I die?
Touching a spike or falling into a gap ends the run instantly, and the next tap restarts the same level straight away. Your bank, your cleavers and the level you reached are kept. Only the cash from that one run is lost.
What is the bonus round?
Every fourth level is a bonus round: no spikes, nothing to fall into, and coins and cash bundles instead of fruit. It banks at face value with no gauntlet at the end, so it is a payday rather than a test.
Are the levels always the same?
No. Each attempt builds a fresh course for that level number, and the generator proves every one is completable by playing it through before handing it to you. The level number sets the difficulty, so a retry is never easier or harder than the course you just lost.
Is my progress saved?
Yes. Your bank, your unlocked cleavers and the level you resume on are saved on your device, so you carry on where you left off. Clearing your browser data starts you over.
