Whisper Architects
by Jamplo
Two partners rebuild rooms through limited written symbols. The architect studies a private blueprint and writes one note per object, then passes the covered device to a builder who sees only those notes. Later plans require relative directions, two rooms and a missing communication symbol.
Controls
- Touch, mouse or keyboard
- Numbers select furniture. The architect chooses a cell or changes reference with R, uses arrows for relative directions, and stamps with S. Enter sends the notes. The builder uses arrows and Space to place objects, then Enter checks. Q switches rooms. Space opens a covered handoff. All actions also have touch buttons.
- Every game
- P or Escape pauses. M toggles sound. Replay the same challenge or start a new one after your run.
Tips for Whisper Architects
- Write your own notes carefully. They do not automatically copy the original blueprint.
- Relative Directions allows one coordinate anchor per room. Every other note must point from a named object to a neighbouring cell.
- When a direction symbol is missing, choose a different anchor or reverse which object refers to which.
FAQ
How do we keep the secret plan private?
The device shows a covered handoff before either role begins. The partner looks away while the architect studies the plan. The builder sees only the stamped notes, never the original, until the result.
Can we talk while playing?
The intended challenge uses only the stamped notes. Agree to avoid spoken or gestured hints so both roles have a real puzzle.
How do we win together?
Rebuild at least three of four plans, or all four on Chaos. Roles alternate so each player designs twice and builds twice.
